Twenty eighth Amendment to the United States Constitution

The Twenty-eighth Amendment (Amendment XXVII) repealed the Twenty-second amendment, which limited presidents to a maximum of two elected terms in office. It also granted authority to the Executive Branch to assume control of publicly traded companies, most notably exercised to take control of communications giant AT&T.

The repeal of term limits took effect in the first term of Barack Obama’s presidency.
